Veteran's Day 2007

Pastor Mike Palompo had this great vision of honoring current and past servicemen and women for Veteran's Day. Servicemen were encouraged to wear their uniforms or badges, or loved ones could bring a picture of the servicemen and stand in their place. This was a great way to thank them for fighting for our freedom.

Both Uncle George and Uncle Sam served in the Vietnam War but never received a heroes welcome back parade. That was during a time of anti-war protests and American soldiers being called traitors. Someone even spit on Uncle George as he was lying injured on a gurney waiting for medical treatment in San Francisco. This welcome at New Hope Mililani was a way to make that situation right.













At the end of each service, we all extended our hands to pray a blessing over the servicemen and give thanks for their efforts.
